Scientific and Cultural Association of Iranian Students organized a “Yalda Night” event at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). Held at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center, the event featured a joyous atmosphere with the participation of EMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu and Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, many Iranian academics, guests and students.
At the opening of the event held in celebration of Yalda Night—traditionally regarded as the longest night of the year and rooted in a centuries-old heritage— Nima Mostafazadeh, Secretary of the Scientific and Cultural Association of Irian Students, welcomed attendees and conveyed his Yalda Night greetings to the university administration and invited guests. He also expressed his gratitude for the ongoing and valuable support that Eastern Mediterranean University continues to provide to the association.
The event program, which consisted of three parts, featured a poetry reading from Hafez, a stand-up comedy performance, and a concert. Iranian artist and Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) presenter Saman Gouran delivered a stand-up show that created memorable and enjoyable moments for the audience. This was followed by a concert by Iranian artist Soheil Rahmani, who further enhanced the warm and traditional spirit of Yalda Night. The event concluded with the presentation of appreciation plaques to both performers on behalf of EMU.
