The “Student Workshop 2026” event organized by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Pharmacy, took place at the meeting room of EMU Faculty of Pharmacy. The workshop, organized in collaborations with the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association and EMU Strategy and Project Development Office, was coordinated and moderated by Dr. Jülide Erdal Üngör. Academic staff members and students of EMU Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as the administration of Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association and representatives of the pharmacists attended the said event.

The workshop aimed to foster strong communication and collaboration between academic education and professional practice. It also focused on enhancing the internship processes of Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Pharmacy students and identifying possible solutions to the challenges encountered during these processes.

In his speech at the event, EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. H. Ozan Gülcan thanked all participants, particularly the President of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharmacist Duygu Adahan Kuran. Prof. Dr. Gülcan highlighted the importance of considering the perspectives of both internal and external stakeholders in organizing the student workshop. He stated that the event would contribute significantly to the development of the faculty’s academic structure and would represent an important step toward the future of the pharmacy profession. He also noted that the opinions and recommendations gathered during the workshop would be carefully evaluated and that necessary steps would be taken to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internship processes.

Stressing that the event was the first of its kind, Prof. Dr. Gülcan noted that, in line with the established planning, various topics related to education and professional practice will be discussed regularly at student workshops to be organized each year.

The President of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharmacist Duygu Adahan Kuran also made remarks at the workshop, expressing their joy to be participation at the event. She also stated her belief that the outcomes of the workshop will produce significant results for the pharmacy profession in both educational and professional practice fields.

A certificate ceremony was held at the conclusion of the event, where all the participants were presented with certificates.
