Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture held an important event on the future of education and, new academic models. As part of the event, Prof. Dr. Emrah Acar from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) participated in the “EELISA European University Innovative Teaching and Learning Model: Learning Stations” seminar as a guest speaker. The seminar, which was held with strong participation, once again highlighted the Faculty of Architecture’s strong institutional support for innovative educational initiatives.
The said event was attended by EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, Faculty of Architecture’s Dean of the term Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun, Chair of Departments of Physics and Chemistry as well as Project-Research Development Coordinator Prof. Dr. İzzet Sakallı, academic staff and students at the Department of Architecture.
During the seminar titled “EELISA European University Innovative Teaching and Learning Model: Learning Stations”, Prof. Dr. Emrah Acar introduced the innovative education framework of EELISA and, underscored the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation, practical learning and international academic connections within European universities. Prof. Dr. Acar emphasized that EELISA, which aims to bring engineering and architecture education together on a common platform across Europe, offers a structure that strengthens student mobility and multinational cooperation.
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Rafooneh M. Sani – Chair of EMU Department of Architecture – stressed the vital role of digitalization and internationalization in modern higher education. Prof. Dr. Sani expressed the department’s commitment to embracing progressive and future-oriented educational approaches, noting that the event made a valuable contribution toward this goal.
The event concluded with Prof. Dr. Sani presenting a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Emrah Acar in acknowledgment of his contributions.
