The General Assembly Meeting of the Famagusta Technology Development Zone Managing Company took place at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). During the session in the Rector’s Office Meeting Room, participants reviewed the previous term’s activity reports and selected the management for the upcoming term.
The meeting was attended by General Assembly members EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, European University of Lefke (EUL) Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen and Chairperson of Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry (KTSO) Ali Kamacıoğlu; Executive Board members Director General of Cyprus Evkaf Administration Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, Prof. Dr. Hadi Işık Aybay, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Rıza, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmedali Egemen, Necdet İcil, Nihat Yılmaz, Atilla Bulancak; and invited attendees EMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, General Secretary Derviş Ekşici and Advanced Technology R&D Institute’s Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davut Solyalı.
In his speech, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated his confidence that the work at the Famagusta Technology Development Zone will continue to progress and highlighted that, with the backing of board members and stakeholders, it will advance further. Prof. Dr. Kılıç emphasized EMU’s aim to carry out agenda-based activities and to take an active role in the new term. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also extended his gratitude to everyone contributing to the management and wished for a successful and productive General Assembly meeting.
EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Yükselen emphasized that the Famagusta Technology Development Zone has successfully continued its operations for many years through the collaboration of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry, EMU, and EUL, noting that its significance continues to grow. He expressed their readiness to take on any responsibility to further advance these initiatives, thanked all members involved in the management, and stressed that the activities will keep expanding.
Chairperson of Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Ali Kamacıoğlu stated that they are always ready to provide all kinds of support, emphasizing their belief in development. Kamacıoğlu wished for a successful meeting.
During the General Assembly meeting, the work and projects of the Famagusta Technology Development Zone were evaluated, and the new board members were elected. The meeting also expressed gratitude to EMU representatives—Prof. Dr. Tümer, Prof. Dr. Aybay, Assist. Prof. Dr. Rıza—and KTSO representative Atilla Bulancak for their contributions to the Zone’s development over the years. Their efforts in enhancing the Zone’s institutional framework and promoting the entrepreneurship ecosystem were also emphasized.
Following the meeting, the new Executive Board Members of the Famagusta Technology Development Zone was appointed, consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davut Solyalı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolga Çelik, Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Ali Çiçek, Necdet İcil, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ademgil, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmedali Egemen, and Nihat Yılmaz.
