EMU Faculty of Architecture Graduate Achieves International Success at Golden Trezzini Awards

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture 2025 graduate Diar Alipcheyev achieved great success, receiving two significant certificates at the Golden Trezzini Awards International Competition. Alipcheyev received a Gold Certificate for the stadium project he designed for the EMU Campus as part of the 4th Year Design Studio (ARCH 491). In addition, his graduation project titled “Revitalization through Art and Culture: Integrating Creative Spaces into the Urban Fabric” was awarded a Silver Certificate.

Stating that his passion for architecture began in his childhood years, Diar Alipcheyev added that his passion has truly shaped with the education he received at EMU. Alipcheyev noted that the studio work helped him achieve a balance between creative expression and technical discipline, and emphasized that the awards are a significant source of motivation for him.

After graduating from EMU, Alipcheyev took part in various projects in Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, France and Greece, and got the opportunity to work with prominent offices such as Ergin Birinci Studio, Hidden Architecture and Dörter Construction.

Making remarks on behalf of Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Rafooneh M. Sani – Head of the Department – expressed that Alipcheyev’s achievements reflect both his talent and the quality of education the department offers to its students. Stressing that international achievements boost the global visibility of EMU, Prof. Dr. M. Sani noted that student can take part in international arena through hard work, creativity and academic guidance. Prof. Dr. M. Sani further stated that Alipcheyev’s success inspired the current students of the department.

On the other hand, Dean’s Office at EMU Faculty of Architecture congratulated Diar Alipcheyev on his distinction and wished him success in his professional journey.

In his remarks, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç highlighted that the accomplishments of the Faculty of Architecture’s graduates on international stages underscore the university’s strong educational vision. He noted that Diar Alipcheyev’s achievements at the Golden Trezzini Awards have brought great pride to the EMU family and wished him ongoing success in his career.
