An event titled “EMU CON” was held with the aim of creating a collective space where student clubs operating under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Student Development, Activities and Sports Affairs Directorate could come together to freely produce, share, and express themselves. Organized and led by the RPG Club, with the motto of “Where Campus Culture Comes Alive”, the event saw participation over 40 student clubs.
Held for the first time among the universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), EMU CON took place at Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Complex, receiving great interest from participants. The event aimed to unite ideas from diverse fields under a single platform, foster a culture of collaborative creation, and build a sustainable festival tradition.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç also attended the event and visited the stands of student clubs. Receiving information about the creative work of the students, Prof. Dr. Kılıç emphasized the value added to university life through the event.
Within the scope of the event, workshops, promotional activities, competitions, and interactive activities were held across eight different activity zones—namely entertainment, arts, technology, science, public and social sciences, health and life, sports, and awareness—based on the themes of the student clubs.
Stage performances also added a vibrant touch to EMU CON. The Folk Dance Society, Dance Society, and EMU Crows Dance Group captivated the audience with their impressive dance performances, earning enthusiastic applause. The Music Club took to the stage as part of an acoustic tournament, performing live music. Prizes were awarded to the winners. The International Performing Arts Club further enriched the event with its artistic performances.
With competitions, themed activities, club events, and stage performances continuing throughout the day, participants experienced an enjoyable time, while EMU CON, held with the motto “Where Campus Life Comes Alive”, is planned to be established as a tradition in the years ahead.
